Glen Ellyn History Park Campaign                     Glen Ellyn Historical Society
Goal: $600,000
The Ada Douglas Harmon Fund will provide for a professionally developed master plan for the History Park, its structures and its landscaping. It also will fund the execution of the landscape design which is expected to include period gardens, orchards and walkways reflecting plants and trees from the 1800’s. And it will provide for maintenance of the gardens and grounds in perpetuity.

This fund honors the memory of Ada Douglas Harmon who moved to Glen Ellyn in 1892.  Artist, avid gardener, and historian, she created a pictorial catalogue of local flora in the form of 175 water color paintings and wrote the first major chronology of Glen Ellyn history, The Story of an Old Town – Glen Ellyn, published in 1922.
